Seoul, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) — The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired what appeared to be a ballistic missile into the east Sea on Tuesday, the Rok joint Chiefs of Staff said.The Joint Chiefs of Staff said the projectile was launched from around Sunan, North Korea, Yonhap news agency reported.South Korea’s presidential Blue House held an emergency meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Security Council in the morning to discuss matters related to the DPRK launch.This is the eighth time north Korea has conducted a launch this year.The DEMOCRATIC People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) conducted an acceptance test of its Hwasong-12 surface-to-surface medium and long range ballistic missile on Wednesday, the KCNA reported on January 31.
